Watch engraving ideas for a personal gift

The best engraving is usually something the recipient recognises immediately. A familiar phrase, a meaningful date or a few words from you can say more than a long quotation.

For an anniversary or partner

“Always with you” · “Every year, still you” · “Our next chapter” · “You, me, always”. Pair a short phrase with a date if it fits the character limit. A phrase you actually say to each other will feel more personal than copying a popular quotation.

For birthdays and milestones

“Your time to shine” · “The adventure continues” · “Here’s to the next chapter”. A name and date are simple alternatives. Choose a message that will still feel right after the birthday has passed.

For a parent, friend or thank-you

“For all the moments” · “Thank you for everything” · “Always in my corner”. Use your own voice: a nickname or shared joke may mean more than a formal dedication.

Check the space and the exact message

The character limit appears on each product page. Eclipse allows up to 40 characters, including spaces and punctuation. Use the counter for your chosen model; do not assume every case back has the same space.

Check names, dates, capitals and punctuation. Keep a long message shorter rather than removing all its spaces. The saved text is shown again in the bag and checkout. Preview placement on models other than Eclipse is illustrative; final placement depends on the case back.

Who engraves your watch?

Lukas Roe, Woodland’s founder, personally engraves the watches in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. Engraving is free and optional. You can leave the message blank if you prefer a non-personalised watch.

Permanent personalisation cannot be changed once engraved. Engraved watches cannot be returned for a change of mind; your rights if the watch is faulty remain protected.
